The Digital Afrique project started in May 2013 with the Digital Afrique Exhibition in Marseille as part of a larger project instigated by Planète Emergences and Musiques & Cultures Digitales in France.
The larger project holds:
1. Marseille Exhibition, to which I was acting as a Consulting Curator of English speaking Africa for Digital Arts.
2. Exhibition in with partners in Dakar
3. The DIGITAL AFRIQUE publication by MCD (Musiques & Cultures Digitales). French in print and eBook. English as free PDF and eBook .
My role as Consultive Curator is an extension of the research I did inline with the research for my PhD on Technology Arts in Africa.
In addition I played a large role in helping Karen Derminuer with research around projects and the large number of “portraits” of African Digital Art Practitioners. This includes articles written by Academics and Researchers based in South Africa.
