New Coal was a commision from the JWTC – Johannesburg workshop on theory and criticism. The piece explores as an online and hyperlinked intervention, the threat of Coal mining to the Mapungubwe Valley in Limpop Provience South Africa. The piece is designed for an online spaces and to disrupt the real estate of the viewers screen, in doing so meaning and stress associated with the actual landscape is revealed.
